Treaty, Treaty Relations, and Land

WHAT IS YOUR TREATY STORY?

What is Your Treaty Story is a website featuring an interactive map that outlines the Treaties signed within Manitoba. Each section highlights the date and location where Indigenous Peoples met with the Crown, along with key facts about the specific Treaty. Several Indigenous communities are also featured to illustrate the relationship between the people and the Land.

This resource is presented as a meaningful way to begin conversations about Treaties and the idea that everyone in Manitoba is a Treaty person. It can also help users explore differences among the Treaties, such as agricultural provisions, geographic boundaries, annual Treaty payments, and other distinguishing features.

NATIVE LAND

Native Land is a website featuring an interactive map that visually represents the Indigenous groups within a given country, offering information on Languages, Territories, and Treaties. A newer feature, called Constellation, connects Indigenous groups to one another by highlighting their relationships, shared histories, and ongoing presence.

This resource is presented as a valuable tool for discussions about geography, the diversity of Indigenous peoples around the world, and for exploring the many Indigenous groups located within Manitoba. It can help learners see both the differences and the connections among communities in a clear, visual way.
