Campus Internships

5 – Day Campus Internships in Manitoba

Internships are available to youth and chaperones. Internships will include visits to research labs located at the University of Manitoba and University College of the North (UCN) focusing on environmental contaminants, plant ecology and GIS, wildlife biology, agriculture and the health sciences. Guided tours of campuses at the University of Manitoba and UCN will also be organized as will tours of relevant government research labs.

Students will have the chance to identify what labs they want to intern at, and will work together in groups to develop and present their research.

Verna J. Kirkness Science & Engineering Education Program

The Kirkness Program provides the opportunity for grade 11 students to spend one week in a research laboratory (science or engineering) and experience what it would be like to attend University.

This program is open to Grade 11 First Nations, Métis or Inuit students with an interest in science, math or engineering. Applications with instructions are on Verna J. Kirkness Education Foundation website: www.vernajkirkness.org
